Letter to the Reader

When this idea started we had no idea what kind of response we would receive. We published 6000 copies of our first issue on campus September 13. That day,  over 170 students came by the club fair and signed up on our interested member list, and many professors stopped by as well. The general message from the public was clear: what we are doing is long overdue. We had many students tell us how they are not political but enjoyed our newsletter and want to get more involved. E-mails have come from all different types of students excited about reading and writing. We made a Facebook group that is growing by the day. We’ve even had students tell us how one of our articles was cited in class by a political science professor. We are excited you are getting involved, we want your input and we value your opinions.

Thank you for that.

This is our second issue; in it you will find some changes. We will now label pieces Educational Articles or Editorials to be completely clear on our intentions. You can now find further reading and e-mail contacts after each article. Please feel free to use these to send us questions, comments or editorial responses.

Our Web site- www.StudentsForReform.org - is just getting off the ground. The forums are set up and ready for use, you can find them at www.StudentsForReform.org/Community.

If you would like to become a member or are interested in our organization, e-mail
info@StudentsForReform.org. Membership will be $15 for a semester or $25 for a year. We are hosting debates, documentary nights, speakers, and a trip to D.C. in the spring is being planned.

We hope these pages will educate readers on current events and differencing opinions. Through these articles, we hope you find an opinion of your own. This is meant to be a voice for those often silent, a place to question without fear and a blank slate for each and every one of you. We don’t care which side you stand on, just stand.

Get educated. Take a stand.
